My plans for the Higher Education Chamber for 2021:
As many APPETD members are accredited by the CHE or are in the process of seeking accreditation, it is quite important that APPETD builds a meaningful partnership with the CHE to be the voice of private providers in the higher education sector, and also to aid the CHE in building the quality of learning and teaching offered by private higher education providers.
To this end, the Chamber will:
1. Work actively to ensure an ongoing dialogue with the regulator(s) and will raise the challenges faced by private higher education providers. The first step towards this goal is a survey that will be circulated to all APPETD members.
2. Also build capacity amongst private higher education institutions, through a series of workshops and other engagements throughout the year, to equip providers to build and maintain quality in their institutions.
